The Nameless Island
Ch.2 (Bloody Jack's Gold)

3 Hammer, The Year of the Scarlet Witch (1491 DR)
Nameless Island, The Trackless Sea

Having teleported to Waterdeep, Patch, Caldreas and Rollard made their way to Dock Ward to find a ship and a captain who could help them find the nameless island drawn on their map made of human skin.

Eventually, they met Ghesh a Dragonborn Master of Arms aboard the ship, The Sea Ghost. Ghesh directed the heroes to Xander Wayfinder, the ship’s captain.

Inside his cabin, Xander was shown the map. He deciphered the location of the nameless island. He said it lay beyond the Sea of Swords and somewhere in the Trackless Sea. Although he had never ventured into the Trackless Sea, he was confident he could take the others there.

Xander negotiated payment for the heroes’ passage which he calculated could take about three months to reach and another three months to return.

The Champions of the Vale agreed to the payment and got ready to sail on board the Sea Ghost.

During the long voyage, Xander and Ghesh offered to join the Champions of the Vale for a fair share of any treasure they may find. In return, he waved off the fee to take the heroes to the island.

Knowing that Ghesh and Xander could help ensure the success of their quest, the Champions of the Vale accepted their offer.

Three long months at sea went by uneventfully.

However, the trip to the island aboard a rowboat would not be so uneventful.

On the way to the shore, they were attacked by several sharks with black scales and red markings. Glyn noted that the sharks were unnatural. Patch emembered similar markings on devils he had fought long ago.

After a long battle, the sharks were defeated and the crew set food on the island’s sandy beach.

Then they were attacked by skeletal remains of pirates who rose out of the sands all around them.

The fight against the skeletons didn’t last long.

Soon, the heroes were cutting their way deep into the jungle’s tropical forest.

New Bear's Head
Ch.1 (Bloody Jack's Gold)

1 Marpenoth, The Year of the Star Walker’s Return (1490 DR)
New Bear’s Head, The Sunset Vale

640x640_9423_Meleen_s_Silver_Tongue_2d_fantasy_tavern_legends_of_norrath_picture_image_digital_art.jpgWhile gathered at the Bear’s Head Inn, Caldreas and Patch reminisced about the past year and of their lost friends, Lo-kag, Winslow, and Goldentag Skaylebane.

Glyn Windriver, a ranger who was working out of New Bear’s Head sat down next to the two and introduced himself. He offered his services as a ranger to the group.

Now three strong, their discussion moved to future plans and of adventures ahead of them. They also came upon with a name of their adventuring group, “Champions of the Vale”.

During the discussion, they were joined by Rollard, a half-elf rogue and cleric of Tymora who was looking to join other like-minded adventurers who shared his curiosity and love of adventuring. Rollard said he was currently in charge of the shrine to Tymora, The Goddess of Luck, in New Bear’s Head but was looking to move on.

Calderas and Patch welcomed Rollard. They then shared with him a map they were given by a homeless old man in Neverwinter last time they were there.

Caldreas shared that map had a name written on it: Bloody Jack. He shared with the others an ancient story about the notorious pirate, Bloody Jack, who lived nearly three centuries before the Spellplague.

As the legend went, the pirate Bloody Jack plundered an Amnian fleet, and gained the greatest hoard of his long and blood-soaked career. Though he was caught and executed shortly afterward, he died without revealing the treasure’s location to a single soul. Old sailors whisper tales of the labyrinth Bloody Jack built to hide his booty in, and the horrible end that came to the unfortunate souls who built it. Many have gone in search of it, but none have returned.

The map was drawn upon a piece of human skin taken off the back of some unfortunate individual. On it were written marks indicating the possible location of the where the island could be found.

They then decided to travel to Waterdeep and find a captain who would be willing to take them in search of a vast treasure.

Ending of the "Rise of Tiamat" Adventure

During the attack in Neronvain’s Stronghold in the Misty Forest, Lo-kag, Caldreas, Winslow, and Skaylbane were mortally wounded by the forces of the Dragon Cult. The green dragon, Chuth, along with the elven wizard, Neronvain, their elven prisoners and Dragon Cultists, nearly killed the adventurers.

Only the elven fighter, Patch, was spared. Chuth, had him leave all of his weapons behind. Despite Patch’s protest, Chuth kept the others prisoner.

Patch travelled back to Waterdeep to ask the Council for help rescuing his friends. They turned down Patch’s request since their resources were spread out thin due to the fight against the Dragon Cult. .

Disappointed, Patch left Waterdeep and returned to New Bear’s Head in the Sunset Vale where he found the town in need of protection against the rising threat of the Dragon Cult.

A few months later, the forces of good eventually triumphed over the Dragon Cult. Another band of brave adventurers took on the mantle of defeating the Dragon Queen at the Well of Dragons. Tiamat’s threat ended as she was forced to return to the Nine Hells.

The Dragon Cult’s forces, now unorganized since their leader Severin was slain, scattered to various parts of the Realms.

The vindictive chromatic dragons scattered back to their lairs, but only after many of them laid claim to choice pieces of treasures or barrels bulging with gold and gems from the cult’s hoard.

Despite their victory, the armies of good had paid a steep cost in the fight against Tiamat. Leaders representing the ruling nobility of countless houses fell in the fight, just as many other brave adventurers fell to the Dragon Cult’s forces.

But just as in the past, the Forgotten Realms has endured another threat to its stability. And at least for the moment, the Realms and all those who call it home, can find peace.

.

Four months after being nearly slain by the green dragon Chuth in Neronvain’s Stronghold, Caldreas appeared back in New Bear’s Head.

Not knowing the fate of his friends, he spoke of being taken elsewhere by the Dragon Cult. He heard from other slaves that most prisoners were being sacrificed or would be sacrificed to to help bring Tiamat to the Realms. During the next four months, Caldreas endured mistreatment as a slave of the Dragon Cult.

But as luck would have it, one day, the Dragon Cult caravan he was on was attacked by a group of adventurers while he traveling to another cult stronghold. During the battle, Caldreas escaped. As soon as he was able to, he made his way back to New Bear’s Head.

He had lost all of his possessions, both magical and mundane. But he was thankful to be alive.
